Architectural Survey Report, Lake City National Historic District
The Town of Lake City initiated the Architectural Survey to aid in protecting the architectural integrity of the Lake City Historic District. The Town Board of Trustees recognizes that Lake City's historic character is an important component in its appeal as a visitor destination. The Historic District also contributes to the quality of life of Lake City residents, providing a steady reminder of the town's origins and historic development.
The 2003 Architectural Survey project photographed, researched, documented, and mapped 241 properties (236 within the district and five outside the district). The Architectural Inventory Forms and the Survey Report organized historic and architectural information for better access by property owners and the general public.
The survey project historic contexts include the following periods of significance:
